St Anthony of Padua Catholic College, Austral
This exciting project involved resolving the masterplan and planning approvals, business case and management of the briefing, design and construction of a P-12 school on a greenfield site owned by Sydney Catholic Schools in Austral.
The Client’s main objectives:
- To create a transformative learning experience in the heart of the aerotropolis.
- To provide a comprehensive P-12 specialised learning area school with a cutting-edge design that enables excellence.
The Solution
We were initially appointed following complications in obtaining initial approvals – and our initial stage involved helping establish a strategic pathway for getting the project back on track.
We then developed a clear plan for the resolution of extensive issues pertaining to the state significant development planning approvals process, to enable the school to progress with the planned growth in enrolments and move ahead to establish the site.
We have since completed three stages of development, which has seen the establishment of a cutting-edge primary school from K to year 3 – and we are now implementing the next stage, which will see the establishment of the high school.
The services we have provided across the projects have included:
- Management of the briefing process
- Procurement of all consultants
- Management of stakeholder engagement and consultation process
- Overseeing and providing support to the school in the preparation of the education model to be deployed
- Analysis of options and identification of preferred options
- Undertaking of due diligence on site conditions and assumptions
- Assessment of costs and staging options
- Preparation of project definition plan and strategy
- Managing all specialist consultant input
- Management of the State Significant Development Application submission including management of the design process in conjunction with the school
Outcomes delivered
- Successful completion of an acclaimed primary school, which is achieving outstanding success in enrolments.
- Obtaining a State Significant Development Approval for the development of Stages 4 to 10, which includes a comprehensive high school, ELC and sports complex enabling a full P-12 school offer on the site.
