CTPG has worked with Kambala for many years as a key advisor on their capital works programmes and manager of their major projects, which together describe an exciting and ambitious pathway forward for their next century of delivery.

The client’s main objectives:

The initial objective on Kambala’s latest step on their pathway of projects required an answer on the viability of the provision of additional classroom and sporting facilities on the campus. The Kambala Sport, Wellbeing and Senior Learning Precinct is a strategic priority for the School.

Enhanced facilities and resources will improve the quality of opportunities for students to excel in their chosen fields, provide new modern learning areas for classroom teaching and encourage girls’ personal, intellectual and physical development.

These facilities are planned at the site of the existing oval, adjacent to New South Head Road and will involve replacement of the current oval, rooftop tennis and multi-sport courts.

The catch: a very constrained site with staged funding.

The assessment had to include

  • Engagement of a complex stakeholder group including school staff, executives and School Council
  • Management of a feasibility review, working through the process across consultants, budgets and timelines, with extensive due diligence on the projects delivery including preliminary statutory authority enquiries, site investigations and managing the preparation of a test fit solution

The Solution

A high level of active stakeholder participation to deliver a fit for purpose solution that would ensure buy in from the school community and a detailed identification of all steps was required to deliver within local authority requirements.

The completed assignment resulted in a detailed feasibility study, with a recommended option, with business case, for the development of the desired sports hall and classroom spaces set underneath a raised playing field.

CTPG is currently managing the preparation of a SSDA for the major sporting precinct project, following on from this feasibility project.
